Approximately 50% of first marriages end
in divorce. Most divorces occur between
the ages of 25-39. First marriages
generally last about 7-11 years before
divorces occur. Some people equate the
increase of divorce with the passing of
no-fault divorce laws, which makes
getting a divorce easier.
Roughly 10% of couples who are separated
will reconcile, stopping the divorce
proceedings.
Today, more people are involved in their
second marriage than there are people
involved in their first marriage.

approximately 75% of divorced women

The number of children living in single

are more likely to divorce than children
of non-divorced parents.
Just about 10% of non-custodial fathers
are classified as a deadbeat parent.
Nearly 27% of fathers default in paying
child support compared with 47% of
mothers who default in making payments.
