Documentation Needed for Property
Division
When parties begin the phase of divorce,
dealing with division of property,
assets and debts, it is helpful to have
all necessary information and
documentation available. It may also be
helpful for you to indicate who
currently has the property and if it was
attained pre or post marriage.
Below is a list of information and
documentation needed prior to meeting
with your lawyer:

Pre and post agreements between parties
·
Employment information, including; wage
information, W-2’s, benefit information,
retirement plans, bonus and commission
packages, etc.

Business financial information and
statements
·
Statements and inventory from:
banking/checking accounts, credit lines,
safe deposit box, etc.
·
Insurance information for property,
persons and vehicles
·
Tax returns, both personal and business
·
Personal and investment property
information
·
Breakdown of living expenses
·
Account set up for children, even if
they are established by someone else
·
Wills and trust documentation
·
Previous divorce property division
decrees
·
Inheritances, large gifts
·
Military benefit information
·
List of all debts, including; loans,
mortgages, credit cards, etc.
·
Furniture and antiques, including;
collections, paintings and art work.
